Dorpers (sheep)

We breed Dorper Sheep, which are an African breed of sheep that do not require shearing. They are a great breed for a number of reasons, including their very hardy constitution, high yield with multiple births the norm, and short time to harvest because all their energy goes into producing meat rather than fleece.

In our case, Dorpers are also an excellent breed selection because they prefer eating roughage rather than green pastures... and because we're in a bit of a rain shadow high rainfall is the exception rather than the norm!

CURRENTLY FOR SALE:

We are currently having a reduction sale and have number of ewes, whethers and commercial rams for sale which would make great lawnmowers on small holdings or enable you to start your own small breeding program.  Because Dorpers don't have to be sheared, you won't have any ongoing maintenance with these sheep and you can expect them to live happily on your property for a number of years.

We are selling our ewes for $220, whethers/rams for $160.  Whethers are all under 12 months old; we have both maiden and mature breeding ewes available.  Some Three-in-Ones available (pregnant ewes, with lamb at foot) - POA.

As a special offer, if you buy 6 or more we'll throw in an alpaca to go with them and protect the herd against foxes and wild dogs.
